In our third article looking at the clubs we will play on our return to the Isthmian League, we look at Ascot United.
Last season’s relatively lowly 16th place came as a surprise, given that the Yellas had been consistently successful for several years. In 2022-23, United did the double of Combined Counties League Premier Division North champions and FA Vase winners, defeating Newport Pagnell Town at Wembley and after a mid-table debut season in the Isthmian League, United were fourth in the South Central Division, losing at Hanworth Villa in the semi-final.
The Racecourse Ground is a cashless venue, so make sure you’re carrying your bank card. There is covered seating at bot ends and, like us, United play on 3G.
Ascot is on the Reading-Waterloo line, which calls at Feltham and Staines, but not Ashford. From Staines, the rail journey takes around 20 minutes. Ground-to-ground, the distance by road is about 14 miles and would take around half an hour.
Yes, there have been five competitive matches between the Tangerines and the Yellas up to and including the 2025-26 season. The details are as follows:

We played two ‘home’ matches at the Racecourse Ground in 2024 during the redevelopment of the Robert Parker Stadium. Both were 1-1 draws; the FA Cup tie against Uxbridge went to a replay, a reversed FA Trophy tie against Ascot went the Yellas’ way after a penalty shoot-out.
We look forward to welcoming Ascot United to our revamped home ground and we want as many Tangerines in the ground as possible, which is why our Season Ticket is such terrific value. For just £100, supporters can watch up to 32 home League matches across the Men’s and Women’s First Teams AND get 20% off in the Clubhouse and at the Tea Bar for the entire season.
