Firstly, there has been little reaction to yesterday’s post on Facebook and email, which suggests that very few people would have ventured out tonight for the quiz. As a result, it has been cancelled and will be re-arranged in due course.
The 1st Team match on Saturday at home to Thame has not yet been postponed but the League has given approval for early postponements. The thaw is due to set in later tomorrow morning but it is doubtful that it will arrive in time, although if we could get it on, we might be rewarded with a larger crowd than normal, with most other matches off. There will be a decision in due course.
All the junior matches on Sunday have been cancelled.
As to the bar opening, it will be open early evening tonight (Friday) as usual but will close once it is no longer worth staying open. On Saturday again we will play it by ear and possibly open in the afternoon/early evening. Again it would be helpful if anyone who is likely to come down during that period could say so. Otherwise you’ll just have to go shopping.
There are big matches on the television on Sunday including Chelsea v Manchester City so we will be open on Sunday afternoon, although, again we will close early if no-one is around.
The weather is a disaster for income. If anyone feels they may be able to sponsor a forthcoming match or the match ball, or any other form of sponsorship, please get in touch with a member of the Committee to discuss amounts, etc.
